APOCALYPSE: LINE BREAKER ****UNDER CONSTRUCTION*****

This mission represents a massive assault against a heavily defended enemy position. Such assaults are always bloody affairs in which the attacker must strike to overwhelm their entrenched opposition through sheer power and weight of numbers, while the defender must hold them back at any cost. In the 41st millennium the result of such assaults aften means more than mere victory or defeat but survival itself, as humanity strives to hold off the devouring nightmare of the Tyranid Hive Fleets, or fledgling empires such as the Tau seek to hold their gains against the savage Orks or the fury of the Space Marines.

Attacker's Overview: Horus Heretic
You must mount a desperate and resolute attack on the heavily defended enemy stronghold. Nothing matters except that you force a sustainable breach in the enemy's line.

Defender's Overview: Imperial Planetary Defence Force
The enemy are massing for an all out attack; you must hold the line at all cost and make them pay in blood for every step they take across the No-Man's Land.

Game Scenario:
PlanetStrike Apocalypse during the Horus Heresy. Brother vs Brother, Renegade guards vs Loyalist guards.


THE MAP:



SET-UP:

1. The attacker prepares his invasion first wave force. Each attacker player should divide their forces into two (2) halves (using number of units rather than points costs or number of battle formations) and select which force should de deployed during the attacker PlanetStrike drop. The rest should be held in reserve for the attacker second turn and futur turn of the game. The attacking team must also chose a drop zone on the battlefield and note it with a token. All units chosen to start the first turn must start the game in reserve(none of the attacking units will start on-table).

2. The defender may deploy any Apocalypse assets and/or PlanetStrike defensive assets they have selected in their deployment zone.

3. Defender Deploys its forces on the battlefield. The Defender may keep as many of units(or Formations) in reserve. Units in reserve cannot be affected by the attackers Firestorm bombardement, so they will enter play at full strenght. Note that in the game planetstrike the scout and Infistrate special rules confer no special benefits when deploying, but will still allow units to Outflank as normal. This represents forces from elsewhere on the planet scrambling to the warzone.

4. This mission has three (3) physical Strategic objectives all which must be set up by the defender in their own deployement zone. This is done after both sides have deployed their forces. These Strategic objectives must be placed at least 8'' apart and more than 12'' away from any table edge.

5. Attacker Launches Firestorm. After the defender has deployed, and placed all its strategic objectives, the attacker may make a number of Firestorm (D6 + number of Objectives) attacks anywhere upon the battlefield. See page 12 from Planetstrike rulebook.

6. Launch the PlanetStrike! The attacker takes the first turn. They start deploying there Deep Strike units on the table. Units may still get on the table by making a normal move from any table edge the attacker has designated as his drop zone.


VICTORY CONDITIONS:

In order to be victorious, the attacker must end the game in control of more Strategic objectives that the defender, if any other result occurs, the breach is not secured and the defender has won.


SPECIAL RULES:

*Scramble!: (All) Attacker and Defender Reserves use the following rules: Turn 2(3+), Turn 3(2+), Turn 4(Automatic). Note that the attacker's reserves enter play either by Deep Strike of from the designated drop zone.

*Death from the Skies: (All) Several types of units have the option to Deep Strike into the thick of things. Infantry, Jump Infantry, Jetbikes and Monstrous Creatures can all Deep Strike in a game of PlanetStrike. See the Planetstrike Deployment attacking units summary(page 11) for more information.

*Into the Breach!: (Attacker's) All attaking infantry units may re-roll failed Pinning tests.

*Prepared Grounds: Defender's) The defenders have the advantage of fighting over familiar grounds, and know where the best cover and the best firing positions are to be found. All the defending infantry units may add +1 to their Cover Saves (to a maximum of '2+' including any other bonuses) while in ruins, buildings, trench works or other fortifications within the defender's deployment.

*Boots on the Ground: (All) The only scoring units in the game are Troops with the unit type of Infantry, in addition all Strategic objectives should be placed in an area of ruins, woods or built up terrain with the footprint of at least 6'' by 6''.

*Chaos Warp Gate: (Attacker'S) This is one (1) free drop zone for the Attacking team. It is represented by a piece of terrain (chaos gate) that is place anywere into the battlefield exept in the defender deployment zone. Models (Units, Formations, Tanks) may exit this Gate during each turn (exept turn 1). Models start there movement at the base of the piece of terrain (Chaos Gate). Models using this Gate do not suffer the rules of Deep Strike. Only a D3 number of units may use this Gate to enter the battlefield during a single attacker's turn.

*The Void Shield: (Defender's) The Imperial Loyalists have a defence Void Shield protection there main City Hive. Attackes may not do Firestorm attacks or Planetstrike Deep Strikes into the city before the shield is destroyed. Armor value of 14 for all sides and may not be immobilised, sacken or stunned.


STRATEGIC ASSETS/NOTES:

The defending side starts with two (2) BATTLEFIELD ASSETS or PLANETSTRIKE DEFENCIVE ASSETS of their choice and may take additional assets equal to the highest number of players per side, to a maximum of three (3). Those assets are chosen from the Apocalypse main rulebook page 188.

The attacking side has one (1) SUPPORT ASSET of their choice and may also take a number of additional Strategic Assets equal to the largest number of players per side, to a maximum of three (3). Those assets are chosen from the Apocalypse main rulebook page 189.

*Banned Apocalypse assets: Flank March, reinforcements, Jammers.

Books allowed: Imperial Armour, BOLS Lords of Battle 2.0 .

BATTLEFIELD ASSETS: (Defender)

Tunnels, Bunkers, Minefields, Obstacles.

PLANETSTRIKE DEFENCIVE ASSETS: (Defender)


SUPPORT ASSETS: (Attacker)

Anti-Plant Barrage, Blind Barrage, Long Range Ack-Ack, Orbital Bombardement, Precision Strike, Scheduled Bombardement,
Surgical Raids.
